Dear Friends, Greetings from the beautiful campus of Liberty University. We are into our second week of our three week road trip. Currently we are attending the Answers in Genesis Mega Conference here on campus. It is an incredible experience. The scientists who are speaking are thrilling to hear as they expound on the many amazing things our Creator has made and share the observable and undeniable evidence of a Master Designer. Scott and I really appreciate the obvious love that the speakers exude for our Lord Jesus and His Word…ALL OF IT! We are continually exhorted to think Biblically…taking everything to God’s Word to get His view of things. He cannot lie! We encourage you to go to: www.answersingenesis.org This website is updated often with the latest discoveries in observable science that give glory to our God. The things that we are learning will sharpen our skills for evangelism both here and cross culturally as we prepare a ready answer for the hope that we have in Christ. Our time last month at the New Tribes Refresher Course was awesome: so neat to meet many missionaries on furlough from the field of Indonesia and get lots of helpful tips. After this time, Scott’s parents met us at Friends In Action to help with the kids while we worked to get our things ready to ship. We got much accomplished and had a special time. Since returning from our travels of last month, we have had a lot of illness: good preparation for the Mission Field! Scott and I were both down with a yucky cold, then Chester got the croup. We are so grateful for God’s help in our time of need. Chet was really having a hard time breathing which concerned us. The Lord used a doctor friend who graciously saw Chester early in the morning and ordered medicine for him. He is all better now for which we praise the Lord! We are grateful for all our many Christian brothers and sisters who have blessed our lives recently (in this trip) in many ways. Here’s a few: loan of a van for travel, money for the trip, hospitality: making us feel at home while away from home, checking the vehicle, helpful natural remedies at a moments notice when Hazel came down with croup, prayer, emergency dental care at no cost, food and fellowship. Thank you. We have had many opportunities to trust our Heavenly Father in new ways on this trip. He has met us each time in our hour of need for which we praise Him. Last week we enjoyed beautiful Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania and reconnected with folks we met while attending the New Tribes Missions Institute in the area two years ago. We enjoyed worshipping on a Sunday evening at Community Baptist Church. This is the church we attended during our training. This last Sunday we had hoped to attend morning worship but sickness prevented it. Chet came down with a virus Saturday afternoon. So, instead we drove all night, arriving in Lynchburg early Sunday morning. After a restful day, we were ready to attend the first session that evening. At the moment, we are all fever free! Chester is talking in sentences a lot now (though not usually when we are visiting people!); he and Hazel like to laugh together about almost everything! Hazel is on the move (getting very fast) and is also beginning to sit up. Both are traveling well. Friday, we will be heading on to Fayetteville, North Carolina to share with Heritage Bible Fellowship. We look forward to being with the folks there thru Sunday and then will begin the long journey homeward. We are very grateful to the Lord for the gracious ways He provides for our needs. We praise Him that our support is at 65% of NTM’s recommended level for Indonesia. Thank you for your encouragement to us (evident in so many ways) as we prepare to leave for our new home, Indonesia. We are continuing to wait for our visas and are still planning (Lord willing) to leave mid-October. Because He Lives, Natasha for all the Flaughers Scott, Natasha, Chester and Hazel Prayer Requests:
Thank you for praying as the Lord brings us to mind.
